I love his use of the word “currently”. 🙂

After failing to convince the world that he is Saudi Arabia’s Ataturk, he wants to try being Saudi Arabia’s Putin.

But MBS is no Putin. He continues to be deeply dependent upon the West, particularly the United States. He’s only emboldened because the administration most capable of taking him to account is currently his bigger enabler.

Item 3, on whether good candidates are bypassing the Senate for a shot at the glory of being president:

«If you apply that analysis to this year’s races, you find that a strong Democratic candidate — a 4.5 on the 5-point scale — still needs a lot of breaks to win in a red state. In a neutral environment, he’d have almost no shot.»

It’s “populism”. I have never liked it because “populism” usually seems to be “pandering to the electorate’s lower instincts.”

Trump has a major weakness — his idiotic, destructive trade policies — that Dems *should* be exploiting.
But they can’t. Because for years most of them have been promoting some version of the same bad protectionist ideas that Trump is now acting on https://t.co/h0X9XAaJFj
