Ok, so, question for the collective wisdom of social media (read: mastodon):
Suppose the current administration actually does start putting deportees on commercial flights instead of chaining them up on military transports. How should I, as clueless passenger, prepare to make some good trouble?
I guess I should start by assuming I’m going to be arrested, too? Or at least ejected from the current flight?
So, I guess, before flying…
- Speak to an attorney?
- Make an earlier flight reservation so I have time for these shenanigans and still make my meeting or sales call or whatever?
- Set aside some bail money? Or speak to a bail bonding agency to get some ducks in a row?
- What else? I really am clueless about how to help here.
And as part of my agitation…
- Ask for documentation as to why they’re being deported? How should I read it? What should I look for?
