I live on land inhabited by eight different tribes/bands/nations over time (borderlands?), but I guess most recently by the Eno and the Occaneechi band of the Saponi nation.

Power differentials and allyship
The Compendium Cards is mostly about organizational (business) leadership, so I read this as a differential in just plain power structures at work, as opposed to a more DEI-flavored thing, but I think it works both ways, really.
Also, I just bought Amélie a cup of tea. The Guide to Allyship seems like a worthwhile thing: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/amelie
(DEI: diversity, equity, and inclusion. Mostly about race, gender, sexual orientation.)

COVID still running hot in NC
North Carolina, what are we doing? COVID isn’t over yet. Average daily cases for the past week:

Not that juicy, Sierra Nevada. Nor that hoppy. Not bad for something kinda malty, though.

🤣
“technology called COBOL”
«The IRS currently uses technology from the 1960s, called COBOL, to process and intake individual tax returns.»

“technology called COBOL.” Ok. I guess. 🙄
I guess it fits in with employers asking “do you know language X?” when really they mean “do you know language X and the ecology around it?”
Republicans and the IRS
«It’s an effort that goes back to 2010, when Republicans took back control of the House of Representatives and immediately instituted a series of crippling cuts on the IRS. Since then, overall funding for the IRS has fallen further, by more than 20 percent, while enforcement funding has dropped by 31 percent. That’s made it easier for high-net-worth tax cheats and major corporations to avoid federal taxes to the tune of billions of dollars.»
