Hopefully, whatever laws are written will have good safeguards against abuse, but, yeah, we’ve seen what happens when we just trust other people to do the right thing.

On the one hand, society runs on trust. On the other hand, blind trust and passivity eventually don’t work out well. (Yes, yes, I’m talking to myself. Especially now that I’m past social media’s character limit.)
