We’re going to have do this every time for a generation

This is not a happy thought, but it occurs to me that we’re going to have to go through this white-knuckle journey every four years for a long time. Honestly, 50% of America is either filled with hatred and/or anger, or with the kind of selfishness that says “I don’t care, I want mine.” They still want to throw bricks through the living room window, and demagogues are still willing to whip them up, with the help of the mainstream media.

Even every two years, because Congress is so important. Whoever wins, there’s (probably) going to be backlash in two years, and we’ll either have to get out and make sure we take Congress back, or we’ll have to defend what we’ve got from the Republicans, who will be just as whipped up as they are now.

“The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.”

Bleah.

This. Even if you are in a ruby red district, there is STILL value in voting blue. It affects redistricting in the future. I know that’s small comfort, but there is ALWAYS value in making your voice heard.

I draw comfort from this.

Plus the fact that Kamala Harris can speak coherently for 20 minutes without wandering off-topic into hate speech.

Plus the fact that any mature voter can see that she’s the only rational candidate in this race.
