I think going through little rituals that make us aware of our relationships with the larger world are good. For example, cutting up six-pack rings before throwing them out, because they can’t be recycled and they might end up in the ocean strangling some critter. And not automatically getting plastic drink straws is good, but are people calling for total bans? Less good.

@rbc12steps @NoTotally Reusable straws are a problem for several reasons.1. It puts the burden of accessibility on already overburdened people. This is sometimes referred to, in the context of Disability, as #CripTax.
2. Practically, reusable straws require sterilization before/after use. 1/

Jaime would’ve turned 15 today.

This isn’t the way things should be. Happy birthday in heaven, my sweet little sister. 🧡 https://twitter.com/jordanacomiter/status/1017837160303681536?s=17
Interesting angle I hadn’t considered before, on why some on the left might not want to admit the Russians made a difference.

«Part of the reluctance to say Russian interference was decisive is a lot of people won’t admit she would have won were it not for the Russians & Comey (who was probably pressured by people in cahoots w the Russians) bc it undermines their pet (& wrong) theories of politics…/2
…or they don’t want to alienate themselves from the kool kidz who know Hillary lost bc she’s a boring & corrupt corporate sellout who didn’t campaign in Wisconsin. /3»
Pretty proud of myself for spotting that Cable’s rifle goes up to 11 in Deadpool 2. 🙂

This situation btw is a great teaching moment for your next cyber security seminar—or perhaps for a DFIR job interview: “I’m sure you heard of the idea that the DNC didn’t hand ‘its server’ to the FBI. What would you say in response?” https://twitter.com/RidT/status/987492032972279808?s=17
