Interesting. I just read the first story. Lotta background covered, apparently effortlessly.

Brilliant idea by the @USMC @WarfightingLab turning dry data into a book of short stories. Proud to have been a part of that project https://t.co/aIaAwLOVKM

Crazy that this is how the insurance industry measures whether you want something bad enough.

My treatment in the aftermath of a brain tumor required a $1700/mo drug. United Healthcare denied it and my doctor would send an appeal letter so I could get it. Every month, this would repeat. We did this deny/appeal cycle for 1yr.

This is kinda cool.
«According to the Arab American Institute (AAI), tatreez, the art of embroidery, dates back to the 8th century CE: “When a Palestinian woman wears her thobe, or traditional Palestinian dress, she is displaying her heritage on her sleeves. Palestinian embroidery, or tatreez, is the artwork featured on each woman’s thobe, and the shapes and colors of the tatreez can be read to understand a woman’s background, heritage, and struggle.”»
She looks a little serious, but oh well. 🙂

«“The systems the U.S. relies upon to mobilize, deploy, and sustain forces have been extensively targeted by potential adversaries, and compromised to such as extent that their reliability is questionable,” it says.
In layman’s terms, that means the U.S. Navy, as well as the Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps, may find they can’t count on all the satellites and other technology they use to navigate, communicate, locate targets and hit them.»

Wow. CATHOLICS accusing THE POPE of heresy, if I understand correctly. Makes the upcoming split in the Methodist Church seem trivial by comparison.

Fun little read. I’m a Warren fan, and it’s interesting to read what Silver says about her. I always thought Sanders would fade a bit (although, to be fair/cautious, it’s super-early days yet) and she’d get some of his support.
