Oof.

«And that was my last hideous man. The Donna Karan coatdress still hangs on the back of my closet door, unworn and unlaundered since that evening. And whether it’s my age, the fact that I haven’t met anyone fascinating enough over the past couple of decades to feel “the sap rising,” as Tom Wolfe put it, or if it’s the blot of the real-estate tycoon, I can’t say. But I have never had sex with anybody ever again.

Huh.

«United Methodism owns an incredible amount of real estate, hospitals, academic institutions, churches, offices, conference centers, retreats, camps, nonprofit and for-profit entities, and the incredible controlled wealth of the United Methodist Foundations. Not to mention WesPath. By purging progressives and moderates, they will lose some churches and conference centers and perhaps entire Annual Conferences, but they will retain ownership of all of the rest.

«the hardline goal of the WCA—progressive expulsion and control/liquidation of UMC assets—will no longer be in reach.»

[Keanu Reeves voice] Whoa….

Is this really a fight over money?

Just finished season five. Never thought I’d like a cartoon this much, yet here we are.

This is the power of story again. (To be clear: the story that there’s a Back-To-Nature, “wholistic” cure for what ails you, that modern medicine is fake and all you really need is dandelion tea and to have your bare feet in contact with the earth or whatever.)

This.

Important to underline that this is how fascism comes to power. Not through elections (they never won a free election anywhere) but because a significant section of the state and capitalist class side with them and clear their way to power by aiding in eliminating opposition.

This allows them at times of crisis to go from minority, not very popular movements to having state power over the course of months. They are entirely dependent on traditional conservatism & nationalism in that process

We are entering a period of history where crisis due to #ClimateEmergency in particular is seeing those traditional conservatives & nationalists once more creating space for fascism in the mistaken belief they will control the outcome

Start

https://gohugo.io/themes/

“Excellent Go template lib”. Link?

Create theme

–> “templates lookup order”. Ok…

WTH is “taxonomy”?

–> Taxonomy Templates. –> Taxonomies Under Content Management. Ok, now I sort of have a handle.

Single Page Template

(Back to “template lookup order”.)

So, now it’s clear I need to learn yet another templating language.

Go templating

HTML templating (security aspects, mostly); text templating (I guess start here).

Nice: https://golang.org/pkg/text/template/#hdr-Actions

Oh, we have argument chaining and pipeline chaining. Seems confusing. Couldn’t we talk about pipeline “construction” from “stages” or “sections” or “segments”?
