Ach, I’m not even interested. Why is this a news story? (I know, I know, if it bleeds, it leads.)
Ok, I guess for every white woman getting drunk and killing her boyfriend, there are 0.12 Black women doing the same thing, and I haven’t seen enough Drunk White Women On Trial! stories to notice that Drunk Black Women On Trial! hasn’t gotten the same attention. Even over 40 years, which is how long I’ve been at least sort of paying attention.
Have there even been eight of these stories? There was whatsherface Susan whatshername drowning her kids in South Carolina, and whosits in Italy who didn’t! kill her boyfriend, and the woman who drowned her 5 or 6 kids in a bathtub after her conservative quiverful engineer husband left for work, so that’s… three?
This is not a fun exercise (at all) and I would actually prefer to never have enough data to draw a conclusion.

Even if all those agents didn’t know who some man (with a NYPD escort detail) was, arresting somebody simply for asking for a judicial warrant (which they evidently didn’t have) is way beyond the pale.

I was at the No Kings protest Saturday and somebody driving past called us “clowns”.
I think they may have been clown-blind.
“Section 174 was permanent, until the Tax act of 2017 pushed by the current President made them expire in 2022, under a different President. That was when the market tanked and the Layoffs began. The current bill debated in congress that has the renewal of 174 also removes judicial protection against abuse of power. Enabling government employees to do as they please without having to comply with Judicial oversight. That would give dictatorial powers to the President. 174 needs to be restore without destroying this democracy. Keep that in mind when advocating to Senators.”
