The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact has passed the Virginia legislature by 21-19 in the Senate, 61-36 in the House.

The closeness in the Senate shows why every vote at the state level counts. Maine just narrowly defeated an attempt to repeal it. Once this thing goes into law, Republicans will never stop trying to take it down.
