DID THE STATE REMOVE 750,000 VOTERS ALL AT ONCE?

No.

In actuality, the removal of these registrations was a part of routine list maintenance conducted over the course of 20 months.

WAS THIS A PLOY BY THE REPUBLICAN PARTY?

No.

The removal of these voter registrations was a part of routine list maintenance conducted by staff of the State Board of Elections, a board made up of appointees from both parties. Democrats have a majority on the board.

IF I DIDN’T VOTE IN THE LAST TWO FEDERAL ELECTIONS, IS MY REGISTRATION CANCELED NOW?

Not necessarily.

The second most common reason a voter’s registration was removed from the rolls was because they underwent two federal elections while in inactive status.

However, to achieve inactive status, a voter must have already skipped two consecutive federal elections. It is not until they fail to vote in two more federal elections that they are removed from the voter rolls.

IS IT TOO LATE TO REGISTER TO VOTE?

No.

The deadline to register to vote in the 2024 elections is Oct. 11.

Voters who miss this deadline can also participate in same-day registration during early voting, which runs from Oct. 17 to Nov. 2.
