I haven’t read this article, and don’t really plan to, but: these days, the Confederate flag, the Gadsden flag, Trump/MAGA paraphernalia and maybe even the Nazi flag and that Amerinazi flag are all markers of a certain thing, and statement-makers by and about the individuals who fly/wear them. Without exception.
