On movements in democracies

I am reminded that this country has done some heavy lifting in the past, and I believe we can do it again. Who gave women the vote? Men (mostly white).*

«100 years ago today in 1918, President Wilson gave a speech before Congress in support of guaranteeing women the right to vote. He had to be pushed, prodded and encouraged to do this. It takes movements and motivations of others and in ourselves to cause change.»
