Crazy, crazy times. This is basically a result of Democratic voters buying that “demographics is destiny” argument in 2010 and deciding that, since demographics is destiny and voting is SO inconvenient, they could just sit out the mid-terms. We’ll be seeing the results of that election for an appreciable fraction of this century.
